Tenerife Webcams – Top Attractions in Tenerife

El Teide Volcano – Las Cañadas Caldera

Las Cañadas Valley is a plain located at an altitude of about 2000 meters above sea level. It is an area shaped by volcanic activity, covered with basalt, pumice, and obsidian rock formations. Interestingly, Obsidian is volcanic glass that shatters into tiny pieces when dropped. It’s better to be careful. You can see this unique rocky landscape with a moon-like character through Tenerife Webcams – El Teide Volcano. The live camera is placed at the Parador de Las Cañadas del Teide hotel and is directed towards the El Teide volcano.

El Teide Volcano and Las Cañadas Caldera are part of Teide National Park, which was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2007. The live camera can be useful for real-time weather checking before the expedition to the volcano. It’s good to prepare accordingly for sunny, cloudy, or rainy days. For those seeking more excitement (read: thin air but breathtaking views), we provide a link to Teleferico, where you can purchase tickets for the cable car that will take you up to 3,555 meters above sea level. If you are considering reaching the highest summit in Spain, we recommend checking out this article “How to climb Mount Teide?”.

Masca Pirate Village – Masca Gorge

Masca Gorge is a place in Tenerife that should definitely not be missed. It’s a small village located high in the mountains with preserved typical Canarian architecture (houses made of volcanic stone). The village itself is tiny, but the valley that surrounds it is absolutely magical and leaves a strong impression. Getting to the village is not the easiest, as the road is narrow and very winding, so it’s good to equip yourself with a good sense of humor and patience. Until 2018, Masca Gorge was one of the most popular trekking trails in Tenerife, but due to danger and the need for renovation, the trail was temporarily closed. Since March 2021, we can enjoy this trail again, but this time it is necessary to be well prepared (permit from the official Masca Gorge website and appropriate trekking equipment).
