Jeep Safari – La Gomera
The “Jeep Safari – La Gomera” excursion will provide you with many unique experiences! Wondering why? This island belongs to one of the smallest Canary Islands, but is very rich in flora. The pearl of the Garajonay National Park is the largest laurel forest in the world. Tourists choose La Gomera to seek peace and quiet and to encounter true, wild nature. La Gomera also has a rich history. In the late 15th century, Christopher Columbus was one of the island’s visitors. He rested here before embarking on his long journey to India, where he later discovered America. Today, we can still see a reminder of Columbus’ visit in San Sebastian’s capital – his house, known as Casa de Colón.
La Gomera will enchant everyone with its diverse landscapes and magic. To find yourself in the center of a mysterious fairy tale, all you have to do is enter the laurel forest. Whose winding and tangled branches, covered with moss, look like the arms of creatures from fantasy stories. There are also places historically related to love – the Garajonay hill, which inherited its name from the names of unhappy lovers.
Undoubtedly, the island of La Gomera surprises with its unpredictability. As with every step you take, you discover amazing natural phenomena. A interesting fact is that people inhabiting its territory, which is only 370km², use a specific whistling language for communication. The whistling language was invented by shepherds and named “El Silbo,”. With its help shepherds and farmers achieved communication between high hills and deep ravines that made contact very difficult. On our excursion, you will be able to watch a demonstration of communication using the whistling language.
