Surfing in Tenerife – an extreme sport that might seem to be only for the fittest. Nothing could be further from the truth; it can easily be said that catching waves on a board is almost for everyone. It simply requires proper guidance and supervision from an instructor who will ensure you feel safe and comfortable. Physical fitness is an important aspect since fitter individuals will be able to last longer in the water and get more out of the course. If you're planning to start your surfing adventure, it’s worth preparing physically, for example, at the gym, by practicing sports that focus on body balance (like Pilates, yoga), running, or swimming. The latter is essential to begin surfing. You don’t need to be a perfect swimmer, but basic movement in the water without fear of submersion is necessary. Surfing lessons in Tenerife are completely safe, and the courses are taught by experienced instructors from various parts of the world. A sense of comfort and safety is the starting point for taking on this challenge.

We start by selecting the right board, wetsuit, and boots. When beginning your surfing adventure, you choose the largest board possible— the bigger the board, the easier it is to stay balanced on it. Then, on the beach, the instructor will explain the theory and provide tips on surfing, as well as point out the area where we will be surfing. After a brief briefing, we enter the water and start the adventure of catching waves.
